The Sri Lanka Motor Cycle Club ( SLMCC) along with the Sri Lanka Army Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Regiment (SLEME) has finalized arrangements to conduct the Seventh edition of the ‘Walawe Supercross’ for motor cars & motor cycles at the Udawalawe Super Cross Track in Sevanagala on 16 & 17 September 2017.

In the past six years, this event attracted a record crowd, fulfilling a long-felt need for motor racing in this province which inspired people in Sabaragamuwa after establishing a new culture of motor racing.

The SLMCC has a proud history of over six decades in organizing motor racing meets in Sri Lanka, such as the Reliability Trials, Circuit Meets in Kurunegala, Ratmalana and Matugama, Road Races in Kurunegala, Galle, NuwaraEliya, Kandy and Colombo. The track situated at the 17th Mile Post on the UdaWalawe-Thanamalwila main road close to the UdaWalawe National Park.

The UdaWalawe National Wildlife Park is a major eco-tourism village which is supposed to be one of the best parks to view elephants. It has become a holiday resort, and with this in mind, the SLMCC with Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Regiment are making every effort to make this event a grand success in this year, too.
